IMAGINARY FRIENDS IN ISOLATION:

"Hello... a quick note to say that the new album IMAGINARY FRIENDS IN ISOLATION is now available on Bandcamp. This is the soundtrack to the collaborative art project, with five artists of different disciplines, that I've been involved with since March 2020. The project is a continuation of work by experimental printmakers Jairo Zaldua and Nicola Jane Green that was expanded as a response to the UK lockdown.

 

The method is: Someone writes in and describes their imaginary companion/s. Then Imaginary Friends Arts create a visual response. Next they send me their artwork and original statement so that I can make a soundscape using the newly created visual persona in tandem with the initial description provided. 

 

The music here is taken from my interpretations made to go alongside the various imaginary characters who have populated the instagram feed this year and their shared stories."

The album features spoken contributions from filmmaker Elin Doyle, using material she recorded and messaged in for the video responses alongside specially extended versions to expand the universe of Imaginary Friends In Isolation.
